Kalimat akan benar jika memiliki Subject dan Verb

Kinds Of  Subject

1. Noun (kata benda)

   Contohnya : car, table, book. dst

-          The invitation makes me happy

 

2. Pronoun (kata ganti)

   Contohnya : I, you, we, they, she (untuk perempuan), he (untuk laki-laki), it.

-          He is the new director of the institute

3. Gerund

   bentuk kata kerja yang diberi tambahan huruf -ing dan berfungsi sebagai kata benda.

-          Swimming is my hobby

4. To Intinitive

   kata kerja dasar (to + V1) yang belum mengalami perubahan bentuk, baik perubahan waktu(tense) atau penambahan akhiran huruf -s/es/ies.

-          To walk to the university takes twenty minutes

5. Phrase

dua kata satu makna. Namun tidak mengandung unsur subject dan verb.

-          Fried chicken is my favorite food

6. Noun Clausa

klausa dependen yang menggantikan kata benda apapun dalam kalimat, mau itu subjek, objek, atau pelengkap subjek.

-          What he said makes me happy

Kinds Of  Verb

1. To Be

·         be = original

·         is, am, are = awal

·         was, were = kedua

·         been = ketiga

-          I am still wait you.

2. Modals

Kata kerja bantu ini antara lain: can, could, may, might, will, would, shall, should, must dan ought to.

-          Can I borrow your notebook?

3. Action Verb

kata kerja yang menjelaskan suatu tindakan, seperti jump, cook, write, sit, sing, play, eat, dream, drink.

-          She left in a hurry.

4. Have, Had, and Has (+V3)

   - have+V3 : They still have time to go.

5. Do and Does (V1)

   - Do you think she’s alright?

  Did (V2)

-          Did he come to your place?
